chairs

naoto fukasawa nine chairs are a part of vitra editions. they are all identical in design except that each chair is made from a different material. the different materials are marble, redwood, concrete, acrylic, wicker, metal, polyurethane foam, felt, and hay. each material transforms the appearance of the chair. this is exactly the result the designer fukasawa set out to achieve when he created the series of chairs to illustrate the impact of a single design decision, the choice of material.

German designer Peter Burning’s sha-do lamp can be hung from any wall or ceiling creating fantastic gorgeous individual shadows up to three meters in diameter. Beautiful.

bronco and corral designed by dirk wynants for extremis. “corral is a rotation moulded polyethylene table that gathers 7 bronco stools. It also incorporates a lighting unit into the table turning it into a lighting object as well, can even be hung from the ceiling.

ivy is a flexible fixture from mos office, which is contemporary take on the traditional coat rack. it is both a functional and a decorative surface for hanging stuff on. it comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, ensuring the end result is customized by the user. “ivy is a coat rack for people who hate coat racks and wall art for people who hate coats.”
